As part of this amazing run of the Los Angeles Angels on of Anaheim -- 9 of 11 before last night -- the team was scoring runs late and making some impressive comebacks. They did it against Oakland, Kansas City and Minnesota.
But usually a team that pulls off so many come-from-behind wins goes through a stretch when things don't quite work out like that.
Maybe last night's ending means the Angels could cool off a little? That would certainly help Texas, which has had to play solid baseball just to remain in range of Los Angeles. Last night, Angels closer Brian Fuentes gave up a three-run homer to Victor Martinez in the ninth as the Indians scored 4 runs in the inning and rallied for an 8-6 win.
It was the kind of inning the Angels usually put together. And it moved the Rangers one game closer to first, now 2 1/2 games back.
Do you think the Angels might end up cooling off as their schedule toughens (at Minnesota, at Chicago White Sox, Texas coming up)?
