After an exciting comeback win last night the Yankees look to win their third straight, as Phil Hughes takes the mound with hopes of regaining the form he had before his most recent start. In his four starts leading up to his last one at KC, Hughes had given up a combined six earned runs. In just 5.2 innings, he matched that run total, even though he registered the win. David Adams will be making his long awaited major league debut tonight, after being called up today on his birthday; Chris Nelson was let go to make room on the roster. Jesus Montero is in the lineup for the Mariners along with Raul Ibanez – they hit back-to-back. Here are the lineups:

Michael Saunders CF
Dustin Ackley 2B
Kyle Seager 3B

This is scary. Today, the Yankees activated Curtis Granderson from the DL, after announcing that Travis Hafner will miss a few days, because his shoulder is barking, and he's having an MRI.Listen: When Travis Hafner goes or an MRI, you better get his mailing address, because the money question is whether it's weeks or months. That shoulder is going to look like a Doppler...
It’s very hard to call a team with the highest payroll in baseball the underdog, but coming in to this season things felt a little different for the New York Yankees. Everyone said they were old. Everyone said they were a lock to miss the playoffs. Everyone was bashing the General Manager, Brian Cashman. How could they win with a bunch of rag-tag guys whose best years were behind...
Soon, Mark Teixeira and Kevin Youkilis will return from their Jacuzzis and reclaim their Yankee lockers, perhaps bringing to a close the most satisfying month since October 2009. Don't gemmie wrong. To beat the Rangers, Angels and Tigers, we need both guys. Trouble is, without a tweaked gonad, their return will end Lyle Overbay's time as a Yankee. After the last six...
You may have seen a couple of days ago the matchstick made Yankee Stadium. That took years to build and is pretty amazing, especially as to how detailed it was. Well, we have already seen something that comes pretty close to topping it. A Derek Jeter portrait that is simply amazing, as it is made entirely out of Legos. The New York Yankees shortstop has never looked as clutch as...
The New York Yankees have selected the contract of infielder David Adams from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, and they designated third baseman Chris Nelson for assignment two weeks after acquiring him.
Adams was set to make his major league debut on his 26th birthday, starting at third base and batting sixth against Seattle on Wednesday night.
Manager Joe Girardi says the 2008...
credit: getty images The New York Yankees have been riddled with injuries since the start of the season but slowly players are returning to the field. Curtis Granderson returned to the lineup recently and Mark Teixiera should be back with the team shortly. Teixiera told MLB.com writer Brian Hoch that he expects to be back with the team by June 1. Previously Teixiera has set a return...

The Yankees have called up righty pitcher Dellin Betances to add another arm to the pen, according to Daniel Barbarisi of the Wall Street Journal. No corresponding move has been made yet, but chances are Brett Marshall will be sent down since he threw over 100 pitches last night in mop-up duty.
Betances, 25, was once considered one of the Yankees’ top...
For those of you who haven’t already heard the news, Yankees relief pitcher Joba Chamberlain told Yankees closer Mariano Rivera to never “shush” him again. The remark came in the middle of an interview Mo was having with some of the media after Friday’s game against the Kansas City Royals. Chamberlain apparently got so loud, that Mo had to tell him to keep his voice down...
Today, something will happen I never again expected to see:Curtis Granderson will rejoin the Yankees. I thought we'd trade him. Frankly, I hoped we would. Not that he's a villain. Grandy remains a solid world citizen - a good-deed-doer and role model to all. He plays fine defense and hits many HRs. It's just my lingering memory -- Curtis, trudging to the dugout, bat...
As Prince Harry wrapped up his trip to the United States on the East Coast, he got the chance to play America's pastime with the fine folks over at Harlem RBI.
During the event, Harry got his chance to swing the bat as he was being pitched to by New York Yankees Mark Teixeira.
To give credit to Harry, he made good contact:

Yesterday marked what could be the first step in the Yankees transforming from the surprising underdog to the dominant force we've come to know. Curtis Granderson made his return to the lineup after missing 38 games with a fractured forearm. The Yankees' outfielder was inserted into the lineup as the starting left fielder.
While Granderson may have gone hitless in...
Once Felix Hernandez tweaked his back, the whole game took an odd twist.
Robinson Cano hit a two-run double, Lyle Overbay delivered a tiebreaking sacrifice fly and the New York Yankees rallied in the seventh inning after King Felix was forced to make an early exit, beating Seattle 4-3 Tuesday night.
''It was hard luck,'' Hernandez said.
The Mariners' ace was...
A few days ago, I mentioned to former Nick Swisher that I had picked his former Yankees teammates to finish last in the American League East.
He smiled and shook his head.
"Bro," he said, "you can't bet against those guys. You just can't."
Lesson learned. When I walked into the Yankees clubhouse Tuesday afternoon, they were not last in the AL East....
With all due respect to the Dillon Gee-John Gast match-up in St. Louis tonight, there’s one marquee pitching match-up on the schedule for tonight’s games: Felix Hernandez vs CC Sabathia in New York. Neither pitcher throws as hard as they used to, but they’ve both managed to adapt to life without their fastest fastball, and both remain among the best starting pitchers on earth...
Wedge tossed early – Everyone got to pitch!
Tonight’s article is a little different, because this team is a little different. On a night where everything went off script, the Mariners pushed through and did just enough to get the win.
