The New York Yankees are hoping to finalize a one-year deal with Ichiro Suzuki by the end of the week. Ichrio was acquired by the Yankees last season at the trade deadline from Seattle. After he was acquired Suzuki hit .322 in 67 games.
The now 39-year-old Suzuki appeared in 162 games last season. In each of his seasons in the majors he has appeared in 146 or more games.

Dinged for being an aging team the Yankees have signed Mariano Rivera, Andy Pettitte, Hiroki Kuroda and Kevin Youkilis to one year deals.
Suzuki finished the 2012 season with a .283/.307/.390 line.
