So Kevin Youkilis is now a Yankee as we all know. Well, apparently his grudge against pitcher Joba Chamberlain could still exist. Just today, Boston.com posted an article about how Youk hasn't returned Joba's call, in which the pitcher welcomed the former Sox player to the team. Could Youkilis actually still be holding something against Joba? He's thrown pitches at Youk's head multiple times in the past and even connected on one. Here's what Joba had to say about Youk's cold shoulder: “I did everything I can do,” Chamberlain said. “I can’t control what Kevin Youkilis does, I can only control what I do and, you know what, we’ll go on from there.” Joba seems a little annoyed to me. Anyways, he continued on the discussion and responded by saying this when he was asked if he was surprised that Youkilis hasn't responded: “No, not really. I’m bound to run into him at some point. Sooner rather than later. We’ll see what happens. We’re grown men," he said....

Joba Chamberlain Says Kevin Youkilis Still Hasn’t Returned Call Welcoming Him to Yankees

When Kevin Youkilis switched sides in one of the greatest rivalries in sports, fans of both teams were upset. But Youkilis and his soon-to-be Yankees teammates were quick to say that the history between Youkilis’ former and new teams means nothing, and that they would all play together just fine. Tell that to Joba Chamberlain. The hard-throwing Yankees reliever, who has had quite...

Kevin Youkilis, Joba Chamberlain ‘Feud’ Overblown, But Duo’s Performance Could Be Real Issue for Yankees

This isn’t what Joba Chamberlain had in mind when he took Carly Rae Jepsen‘s advice earlier this offseason. Chamberlain decided to call Kevin Youkilis, whom he’s developed quite the rivalry with over the years, shortly after Youk signed with the Yankees as a free agent. The only problem is that Youkilis didn’t answer, forcing Chamberlain to leave a voice mail that has since...

New York Yankees sign Washington Wild Things ace Chris Smith

You can never have enough pitching. And the New York Yankees have proven over time that they will sign anyone from anywhere if they think they can help their organization.  Washington Wild Things’ Chris Smith of the Independent Frontier League has had his contract purchased by the New York Yankees. The Observer Reporter wrote that Smith will report to Yankees spring training...

Super-snooty Youk too good to return Joba call

That's not booing you hear. That's the fans crying, "FEUD!" And it's the last thing the 2013 bargain basement Bombers need: A snob third baseman who lacks the fundamental human decency to return a welcoming call to the Yankee family.Who does Kevin Youkilis think he is? Kevin Brown? What kind of black-hearted, preening, self-drunk monster receives a friendly message...

Joba still waiting for new Yankee Youkilis to return call

It wasn't long after the New York Yankees had signed Kevin Youkilis to a deal that Joba Chamberlain called his one-time nemesis to welcome him to the Bronx. Did the former Red Sox player, who Chamberlain had a long-running feud with as their two teams battled in the AL East, ever respond? "No," the Yankees reliever said Tuesday night at the Baseball Assistance Team...

Youk Forgot To Call Joba Back

That has to be it.  I cannot believe that Kevin Youkilis is that much of a jerk that he wouldn't call Joba Chamberlain back after the pitcher called him to extend an olive branch, in an effort to put their past incidents behind them.I came to this conclusion almost as soon as I heard that ESPN New York' s Andrew Marchand was reporting that Joba was still waiting to hear...

Rivera healthy, ready to go

Enter Sandman. Mariano Rivera has accomplished some amazing feats in his surefire Hall-of-Fame career. However, this one might be near the top. It appears as if Rivera will return to a major league mound for the start of the 2013 season, less than a year after he crumpled to the ground on the Kansas City Royals’ warning-track with a torn ACL. Oh, he just turned 43-years-young...

Righty-bat elusive for Cashman

Cross another name off the list, as Scott Hairston has signed a two-year deal with the Chicago Cubs worth $6 million, according to sources with knowledge of the negotiations. Hairston was looked at by the Yankees, Mets and Braves before his signing in the windy-city. In what has been a stange offseason for GM Brian Cashman and the Yanks, they are still looking for that righty outfield...

The state of New York baseball

Did you hear about the team in New York that won’t spend any money despite being in the nation’s number one market? Boy are their fans ticked off about it, too. It wasn’t too long ago that they were a financial powerhouse and now they are afraid to go into the free agent market for long-term contracts. There’s talk they will be lucky to finish above fourth place in their...

Jeter's offseason just got more taxing — $265,000 more

Derek Jeter better hope his surgically-repaired ankle heals enough to play a few more seasons — he just might need the cash. After selling his Trump World Tower penthouse apartment for $15.5 million —taking a $5 million hit on the asking price — the New York Yankees shortstop just got walloped with a staggering $265,000 tax bill for his Tampa mansion — a fourfold increase...
