Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson Undercard Will Now Feature Former UFC Star Darren Till Facing The Son Of A Boxing Icon

The undercard for the highly anticipated Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson clash in July just got a notable addition that will see former UFC star Darren Till make his professional boxing debut.

Despite neither man being ranked or relevant in any specific division in boxing, Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson on July 20 is one of the most highly anticipated fights of 2024. The matchup featuring one of the greatest heavyweights of all time and the most successful YouTuber turned fighter ever will be aired on Netflix and take place inside the home of the Dallas Cowboys.

While that fight will certainly bring many eyeballs to Netflix on July 20, they still have a massive arena to sell tickets for and the event needs an undercard that can generate the sort of interest to fill the majority of AT&T Stadium’s 80,000-seat capacity. On Wednesday MVP Promotions took a step toward doing that.

In a press release, the company promoting the July fight revealed that former UFC welterweight title challenger Darren Till will be making his pro boxing debut on the undercard. The cage-fighting star was released from the company over a year ago and has not competed in any combat sport since.

Along with the reveal of Darren Till joining the undercard for Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson, MVP announced his opponent and the UFC veteran will not be getting an easy fight. Welcoming the Englishman to the ring on July 20 will be former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr.

The son of the boxing icon has faced legends like Anderson Silva, Canelo Alvarez, and Sergio Martinez during his 60-fight career. He has not fought since 2021 and is indefinitely suspended in Arizona after refusing to take a drug test before his Dec. 20 bout against Daniel Jacobs.

“I’m very happy to be a part of this event,” Till said in a statement. “Paul vs. Tyson is going to be one of the biggest events of our generation, and to make my professional boxing debut on it is brilliant. I’m very happy with my opponent. I’ve been a fan of his father for many years and I’ve been a fan of Chavez Jr. too – he is a great fighter who I respect.

“But make no mistake about it, I am coming to knock him out in the first round. I am happy with where I am in life, and I am coming to make a statement on Saturday, July 20th in Texas.”
