WBO number-two ranked Jr. Welterweight contender Ruslan Provodnikov expects to be in a major fight sometime in the near future according to his team. Provodnikov (22-1, 15 knockouts) is in line to face Brandon Rios and his team, led by promoter Arthur Pelullo and Banner Promotions along with manager Vadim Kornilov, are doing everything to make that fight or another big opportunity a reality. “I think Brandon Rios and Mike Alvarado was a great fight, but Rios won the fight by KO and people would rather see another fight that would be candidate for fight of the year in 2013 against Ruslan Provodnikov than have them fight a rematch with the same outcome as their first fight”, said Kornilov. “If Juan Manuel Marquez won’t defend the belt then we are in line to fight Rios or the next highest rated contender.
