Obsessed With Sports:
The boxing match over the weekend was fixed. It’s rather clear. Timothy Bradley “won” a split decision victory over Manny Pacquiao Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
I’ll touch on stats for only a moment. According to the HBO broadcast, Pacquiao landed 190 of 493 power punches to Bradley’s 108 of 390. In terms of overall punches, Pacquiao also outlanded Bradley: 253 of 751 for Pacquiao, 159 of 839 for Bradley.
The sooner we digest the idea that this was a fix, the sooner we can move on.
How is this a good thing? This could lead us closer to a Mayweather – Pacquialo bout. Here’s how.
This assumes Pacquiao was not in on the fix. I believe this is very evident as Pac-man didn’t exactly mail it in on Saturday night. He beat Bradley handily. If that was Manny throwing a fight, he isn’t very good at it.
Maybe Pac-man wasn’t in on it, but some people knew. Pregame.com says that some Vegas sportsbooks saw an influx of money on Bradley the day of the fight. In fact, so much mone...
BEST OF MAXIM
Manny Pacquiao, unbeaten in 15 straight fights dating back to 2005, looked to be well on his way to retaining his WBO welterweight title in a fight against unbeaten challenger Timothy Bradley Jr. on Saturday night. That is, until the judges had their say. In a stunning turn of events, the judges handed Bradley the victory in a split decision, despite nearly every statistic and pair...
Manny Pacquiao was robbed.
So says Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada, himself a former boxer and member of the Nevada Gaming Commission before he was elected to Congress.
The lawmaker said Tuesday it was clear to everyone who knows anything about boxing that Pacquiao won his bout in Las Vegas on Saturday night.
Reid said he was not personally at the fight, but that he...
Senate majority leader Harry Reid knows a few things about the sweet science. The Nevada democrat was an amateur boxing back in the day and even served as a boxing judge. Now, just a few days after the controversial Manny Pacquiao-Timothy Bradley fight in Las Vegas, Reid wants there to be an investigation. After the judges' split decision made Bradley the winner, fans and boxing...
The extremely controversial decision which went to Timothy Bradley last night when he fought Manny Pacquiao was bad enough, but now the addition of a curious Tweet sent by Bradley two weeks ago is giving conspiracy theorists even more ammo. Bradley tweeted out this photo back on May 29th which was a shot of the rematch poster for him and Pacquiao which was already printed up...
Timothy Bradley's unwarranted win over Manny Pacquiao Saturday wasn't the only thing wrong with the show on HBO pay-per-view that night. On the undercard, we had a ritualistic slaughter of Teon Kennedy by Guillermo Rigondeaux, a 1.5 round match-up between Jorge Arce and Jesus Rojas that was shaping up nicely before it ended with an accidental foul, and nine rounds...
The collective feeling after the Manny Pacquiao-Timothy Bradley fight was this: Pacman got robbed. Split decision? Try wrong decision. Who called this fight, anyway? Is Floyd Mayweather Jr. still making moves to take down Manny from his jail cell? You usually only get screwed this much on pay-per-view for other reasons. Plenty of people are already calling it the death of boxing...
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is using boxer Manny Pacquiao's controversial defeat over the weekend to push for long-stalled legislation to more strictly regulate the sport.
The Nevada Democrat, who knows Pacquiao and has enjoyed the famous boxer's political support in the past, was asked about the Filipino superstar's shocking loss Saturday to Timothy Bradley and...
You know what is the single most best way to find out if you won a fight or not? You go directly to the people and our very own Michael Mardones did just that as he asked fans inside the MGM who they though won the bout, with a very special cameo from former heavyweight [...]
One of boxing's major sanctioning bodies will review Timothy Bradley's controversial split decision victory over Manny Pacquiao, the first step toward what promoter Bob Arum hopes will be ''clarity'' in the judging of the fight.
WBO President Francisco ''Paco'' Valcarcel said in a statement Wednesday that the WBO's championship committee...
Testosterone Replacement Therapy is a big problem in MMA and it is slowly making an entrance into the world of Boxing. At this point in time a majority of boxers have no clue what TRT is and it makes sense. Old school trainers and their no non-sense approach to training see many fighters train the [...]
Where's the Outrage for the Terrible Pacquiao vs. Bradley Decision?
As we struggle to make sense of the atrocious decision that gave Timothy Bradley the win over Pacquiao, we need to figure out how to put this into perspective. Let’s break it down for all the participants in the fight and see where the blame lies for one of the worst decisions in a big fight to ever come down...
ONE HITTER QUITTER
All it takes it one punch.
As the fallout continues from Manny Pacquiao’s first loss since 2005 on Saturday night, We had a chance to catch up with his strength and conditioning trainer Alex Ariza as he comments on what happened the night of the fight and is still in disbelief as to how Timothy Bradley beat Manny Pacquaio.
The WBO says it will review the title fight between Manny
Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley, which ended with Bradley's
controversial split decision win over the Filipino champion.
