Wilder Warns Tyson Over Jake Paul Fight – ‘God Forbid He Gets Hit Into A Coma’

Deontay Wilder is worried that Mike Tyson could end up in a coma ahead of his clash with Jake Paul on July 20.

Paul and Tyson face off in a pro bout on July 20. It will make history since it is the first time Netflix will air a boxing bout. Both fighters are reportedly in line to make over $20 million for this fight. It will take place as an eight-rounder, with two-minute rounds. The decision will be added to their records. Both fighters are taking this seriously, given the changes to their training.

Tyson is training three times a day. He is also on a raw meat diet, a switch from his vegan one. To complete things, he has banned himself from having sex and weed. Paul is equally taking steps to make himself in the best possible shape. He is bulking up to 240 pounds before cutting some weight.

“I think I’ll get up to 240 and probably cut down so I’m like way faster. But if I’m training for this camp – and camp hasn’t started – but if I’m training in this camp at 240 and then I cut down to 220 it’s basically like I had a 20lbs weight vest on for the whole entire camp. So my muscles are going to be so much stronger and that speed will come through,” Paul said

Wilder On Tyson

Wilder felt it was simply too dangerous for Tyson to get in the ring.

“I think it’s bad the commission has licensed Mike Tyson because he hasn’t been active in 20 years. They should not just license him because of who he is, that’s how people get hurt, god forbid he gets hurt. People can get hit in the wrong place and at the wrong time, there’s lots of examples where guys have been hit into a coma. It’s easy to do. He’s too old for this.

“I don’t think anyone cares about Mike because if they did, they wouldn’t sanction the fight. They may say they’ve done tests and all that, ok, but as long as you’re willing to suffer the consequences if something bad goes wrong,” Wilder stated

The ticket prices for Paul vs. Tyson have been released, with one costing a staggering $2 million. The fight has generated a lot of buzz and is expected to appeal to casual fans. If fans want an exclusive seat at the fight, it will cost them in the millions.

“The $2million experience is anchored by two ringside apron seats (owner’s seats) that have never been offered in boxing before, as well as four first row floor seats, and four second row floor seats for the event. The fight night experience includes an exclusive stadium arrival experience, security and escort during the night. It includes a pre-fight in locker room photo with each of Jake Paul and Mike Tyson, gloves signed by both fighters, a private green room with a top shelf open bar and all-inclusive food menu, and a post-fight in-ring photo opportunity for the group,” MVP statement
