Rubio files protest over Chavez bout
Middleweight contender Marco Antonio Rubio made good on his promises to file a protest over his Feb. 4 unanimous-decision loss to WBC middleweight titlist Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
The protest filed with the WBC claims several violations were committed over the course of the championship bout as well as during the lead-in to the encounter.

Chavez retains belt against Rubio
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. retained the WBC middleweight title Saturday, earning a unanimous decision over fellow Mexican Marco Antonio Rubio.
The judges scored the bout 118-110, 116-112 115-113 for Chavez, which drew a mixed reaction from the 14,120 in attendance Saturday at the Alamodome.
