After months of working out for NBA teams and making impressions on scouts, former Syracuse guard, Scoop Jardine’s dreams of becoming a professional basketball player took a serious hit this past weekend. Scoop Jardine broke his right foot while working out in Los Angeles, and will have surgery Tuesday. The recovery time will force the Philadelphia native to miss the NBA’s Summer League, which is vital in a rookie development. Scoop Jardine was a former Catholic League Champion at Neumann-Goretti High School, in South Philadelphia. Watching Scoop over the past 8 years has been exciting, and to see his hard work not pay off would be sad for Philadelphia and Jardine.

“I’m trying to stay positive,’’ Jardine laughed when he talked to the Syracuse Post Standard, “I’ll probably be able to jump after this.’’

Scoop could be compared to Lou Williams of the Philadelphia Sixers. Jardine has loads of energy and born a fighter, looking for ways to win. His pass game is insane and would benefit any team looking to draft a point guard. With the Sixers drafting 15, 45, and 54 there is a slight hope that they take the chance. Philly Sports Live wishes Scoop Luck in the 2012 NBA Draft and hope for success.
