Rick Pitino confirmed the news with Eric Crawford of WDRB that sophomore forward Angel Nunez will transfer from Louisville following this semester. Pitino says he supports Nunez’s decision. Limited prospects for playing time led the Nunez’s decision. He hasn’t played in a game this season and has been sidelined with a severe concussion. Nunez averaged 4.6 minutes as a freshman last year. He only appeared in 12 games averaging 2.0 points. Nunez committed to Louisville on September 30 of 2010. He had offers from Arizona, Arkansas, Cincinnati, UConn, Providence, Rutgers, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, St. Johns, and Indiana. After committing to Rick Pitino, Nunez drew comparisons to former Louisville sensation Francisco Garcia. Nunez said watching Garcia’s career at Louisville impacted his decision.
