The Cincinnati Bearcats set a scoring high for a Mick Cronin team with 102 points tonight. They beat the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils 102-60. The Bearcats decided to go at the rim in the second half and it worked because they scored 59 points. Some of it was because Mississippi Valley State is very bad. I legitimately believe that a McDonald's All American team could beat them.  According to SCAAHoops, UC made 39 field goals. 21 were layups or dunks. That ended up with an offensive efficiency of 132.5, which is great. The UC effective field goal percentage, which weighs 3 pointers, was 61%. That's also very good. UC hit 8 of 18 from 3. That is another thing that is very good. They were money.  The only bad thing that reared it's ugly head were free throws. The Bearcats put up an ugly 16-25. 64% for a team that has this many shooters is not good enough. I said that yesterday and I'm saying it today. The turnovers were settled somewhat, 15 is a lot, but those came early and late.  This was a game that I thought UC would win easily. I picked 101-56 in the pregame. They won easily. It's all good. Cincinnati is 2-0.  Oh Sean Kilpatrick passed 900 points. Congrats, Killa.  stats via stat tracker from go bearcats
