The University of Louisville and South Florida basketball programs have met 30 times since 1985, with UofL winning 26 times, but none of them more satisfying than the 64-38 crushing of the visiting Bulls Saturday.
Typically the games have been in slow motion, USF agonizing every minute out of the clock with slowdown basketball, attempting to lull participants and onlookers into dreamland...
Since returning to the court for Louisville, Gorgui Dieng is picking up right where he left off, prior to suffering a fractured wrist in November.
Dieng is averaging 11 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3 blocks in his first three games back with the Cardinals.
Those are some pretty impressive numbers for a guy who missed over a month of action. It’s just been three games, but in my opinion...
University of Louisville senior point guard Peyton Siva led the Cardinals in scoring on Saturday and also reached a special milestone. Siva scored 17 points and surpassed the 1,000-point mark for his career during a 64-38 victory over South Florida in a Big East Conference contest.
15 games into the 2012-13 season the Louisville Cardinals are 14-1 overall and are ranked No. 9 in the RPI. Louisville’s current strength of schedule ranks No. 22 in the country, but that ranking will likely climb within the next few weeks as the Cardinals are getting ready to hit one of the tougher stretches in their schedule. After the South Florida game tomorrow afternoon...

Tennessee has a steep hill to climb before the Volunteers can fully recover from all their recent setbacks - on an off the field.
Athletic director Dave Hart knows it won't be an easy process.
The Vols have posted three straight losing seasons in football for the first time in a century, and Butch Jones will be Tennessee's fourth coach in a six-year stretch. Hart hired...

Louisville traveld to New Jersey to take on Seton Hall and was able to pull out a victory 73-58. Louisville was without Chane Behanan due to a high ankle sprain that he suffered earlier in the week.

Louisville's objective against South Florida on Saturday was more about firming up its defense rather than avenging its last home loss.
Either way, the No. 3 Cardinals achieved both goals in convincing fashion.
Senior guard Peyton Siva scored 17 points to surpass 1,000 for his career and contributed a team-high three steals as Louisville held South Florida to a season-low 27...
South Florida coach Stan Heath called last season's win at Louisville the program's biggest since he arrived in 2007.
The Bulls couldn't repeat their performance on Saturday, losing 64-38 to the No. 3 Cardinals.
It was the lowest point total since 1997 for South Florida (9-6, 0-3 Big East), which used last year's 58-51 victory as a springboard to the NCAA tournament...
