The patented knockout run never came for the UConn Huskies women's basketball team on the run. The South Florida Bulls weren't going away. So something had to give.
That something turned out to be the play of senior Tiffany Hayes.
After scoring a career-high 35 points her last time out, Hayes was doing her best to outscore the Bulls in the second half. She ended up scoring...
The Bulls are now 6-3 in Big East conference play and are off to their best start since joining the conference. The Bulls defense has been their strength and USF freshman guard Anthony Collins has had a huge role leading them on offense.

Hugh Robertson and Anthony Collins scored 15 points each, Ron Anderson Jr. added 14, and South Florida beat Providence 81-78 on Sunday.
Toarlyn Fitzpatrick chipped in 13 points and Augustus Gilchrist 11 for South Florida (13-9, 6-3 Big East), which has already surpassed its overall (10) and conference (three) victory totals from last season.
