Isaac Sosa scored 24 points, shooting 8-for-12 from 3-point range, as Canisius defeated Longwood 82-54 in a nonconference game Monday night. The senior guard bettered his previous high of 15 points with the Golden Griffins (7-2), set in an 85-61 loss Saturday to Syracuse. He fell two points short of his collegiate high of 26, set three years ago when he played for Central Florida. Sosa's first four 3-pointers came in the opening 4:06 as the Golden Griffins built a 16-6 lead. The Lancers (3-8) twice got within two points later in the half but trailed 39-28 at intermission. Canisius closed the game with a 19-6 run. Alshwan Hymes scored 18 points for Canisius, including 4 of 8 3-pointers. Canisius finished 13-for-28 behind the arc (46.4 percent) and has made 51 from 3-point range in its last four games. Jeylani Dublin led Longwood with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
