NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Ricky Tarrant scored 21 points and Josh Davis had a double-double in Tulane's 75-54 rout of Houston on Saturday night. The Green Wave (15-8, 3-6 Conference USA) scored 42 points in the paint and shot 50 percent (30 of 60) from the field. Jordan Callahan added 17 points, and Davis had 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Green Wave. Davis also had four blocks, and Tarrant had five steals as Tulane forced 18 turnovers, leading to 19 points. The Cougars (11-11, 3-6), who never led, were held to more than 20 points less than their season average (74.6 points), and made just 1 of 12 3-pointers. Tulane opened with the game's first eight points, and stretched its lead to as many as 26 at 75-49 with 3:03 to play. Joseph Young led Houston with 17 points, TaShawn Thomas added 11 and Jonathon Simmons had 10.
