The Duke Blue Devils, in conjunction with their Digital Media Partner NeuLion, launched an official iPad application for their website GoDuke.com. They’re the first ACC team to do this- launch an app featuring live video for all their sports. But obviously, most users will download the app for college basketball. It will feature on-demand video, news, scores, schedules, photo galleries, and live stats from all home games. To learn more about the official Duke iPad app, search “GoDuke” in the App Store. Also new to GoDuke Inside Access account holders is on demand content featuring condensed games and full game replays for all men’s basketball and football games. “Duke fans will now be able to watch Blue Devils men’s and women’s basketball live in High Definition on either their PC or iPads. This speaks volumes to the progressive vision of their athletic department,” said NeuLion Vice President Ed O’Brien. The official iPad app launch complements the overall digital media strategy....

Seth Curry Named Duke's Third Captain

Duke announced on September 20th that Senior Miles Plumlee and Junior Ryan Kelly would be named as captains for the 2012 season.  In this post, I wondered whether Duke’s insistence on feeding the post more this year led to the big men taking a more prominent role in the leadership department, thus leaving Seth Curry out of the captain’s role. Evidently, Coach K either reads...

2011-12 Duke Basketball Preview

A lot was expected of Duke last season. They were coming off a National Championship, had stars returning, and welcomed the #1 player in America to campus: Kyrie Irving. Unfortunately Irving lasted all of 8 games before missing the rest of the regular season with his foot injury. Duke was 8-0 at that point, with solid wins over Marquette, Kansas State, Michigan State and Butler...

Duke got all it could handle in the first half against Division 2 champs Bellarmine. Duke did not help their cause by going 2 for 14 from 3 point range, missing their first 11 shots, while giving way too many open looks to the Knights who knocked down 8 of 24 from beyond the arc. Duke also turned the ball over 19 times, most of those occurred in the first half where Bellarmine closed...
