Purdue's Hummel prepares for NBA
Robbie Hummel has overcome an array of injuries and hopes his ups and downs have prepared him for the NBA.
A torn ACL in his right knee forced the Purdue forward to miss all of last season. He returned this season and was a first-team All-Big Ten selection after averaging 16.4 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game. He scored 26 points in an NCAA tournament loss to Kansas...

Purdue recovers after Saint Mary's rally
Purdue made it through its NCAA opener again, but Saint Mary's made it interesting.
Lewis Jackson made the go-ahead free throws with 22.8 seconds left after the Gaels had rallied from 11 points down late to take their first lead, and the Boilermakers won 72-69 in the Midwest Regional on Friday night.

Hummel ready lead Purdue in tournament
OMAHA, Neb. Now it can be told: Robbie Hummel cannot rap. He can make it rain from the corner. He can drive the lane like a Dodge Charger. Give him the ball while you're up a point or two, with the clock winding down, and he'll answer with a dagger.
He can tear his right anterior cruciate ligament, climb all the way back, tear it again, then climb back a second time. He...

Video: Purdue commit drains full-court shot
Talk about a story-book ending! Purdue recruit Basil Smotherman, a Lawrence (Ind.) North High junior who has committed to play for Purdue, hits a crazy near full court length shot to end his high school career. What’s more insane is the amount of times it hits the rim before it goes in!
In fact, that three got even more important by game’s end, when Lawrence North pulled...

Boilermakers kick Kelsey Barlow off team, suspend Byrd
The Purdue Boilermakers have had some terrible luck the last few seasons. The previous two seasons, which were seasons that Purdue were Final Four contenders, essentially derailed by knee injuries to Robbie Hummel. This season did carry the expectations, but saw a young team starting to gel together at the right time as the NCAA Tournament approaches. But the Boilermakers will...

Purdue Boilermakers Tournament Resume: Strengths and Weaknesses
In our latest NCAA Tournament projection we have the Purdue Boilermakers as an #11 seed in the West Regional, out in Albuquerque. In other words, just a line or two above bubble status. And since February is pretty much here- time to think about who needs to shore up the old resume for selection time come March.
And given how dreadful the Boilers have been at Conseco Fieldhouse,...

Purdue fans make rap video
For whatever reason, rap videos have become all the rage at colleges. Not watching them, mind you. Actually creating them and the popularity behind it is unbelievable. Last week, we saw the Georgia students make a video in an attempt to either embarrass themselves or intimidate LSU. This week, Purdue University takes charge with the new video “Boiler Up.”

LITTLE BIG MAN
5'9" Purdue guard makes monster dunk
Tonight, the Purdue Boilermakers handled Western Michigan 80-37. The entire team played well, but the highlight of the game was a fast break dunk by senior point guard Lewis Jackson. On the surface, it looks like a typical dunk. However, when you look at the size of Jackson, it makes it more impressive.
Jackson is 5’9 at his absolute tallest. I’d put him at about...
