Akeem Richmond and Shamarr Bowden each hit five of East Carolina's school-record 18 3-pointers and the Pirates set another program high with 64 first-half points in a 111-59 win over NAIA foe St. Andrews on Tuesday night. The points were the most by East Carolina (6-1) since defeating The Citadel 111-81 on Dec. 4, 1975. The Pirates also had 30 assists, their highest total since 1984. Richmond and Bowden scored 15 apiece and Paris Campbell had 11 first-half points as 14 of 15 East Carolina players tallied points. The Pirates quickly took control, leading 28-10 at the 11:35 mark and 64-30 at halftime en route to coach Jeff Lebo's 250th career win. East Carolina shot 50.7 percent (37 of 73) and 50 percent from long range (18 of 36). They also had a 51-35 rebounding advantage. Clavontae Brown had 18 points and Demetrius Monroe 14 for St. Andrews (0-9).
