Rakim Sanders had 19 points and 10 rebounds, and Ryan Olander also posted a double-double to lead Fairfield to a 75-63 victory over Saint Peter's Thursday night in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action. The Stags (10-9, 5-3) led 36-31 at halftime before pulling away to handily beat the Peacocks (4-15, 3-5). Like Sanders, Olander also grabbed 10 rebounds. Maurice Barrow and Derek Needham scored 14 and 11 points, respectively, for Fairfield. Darius Conley and Chris Prescott led Saint Peter's with 16 points apiece, the only Peacocks in double figures. Fairfield extended its lead to 51-38 midway through the second half and coasted home. The Stags shot 52.9 percent from the field (27 for 51). They only hit 4 of 13 3-pointers, while Saint Peter's hit 5 of 10. But Fairfield had a 36-21 rebounding edge, including 12 offensive boards as the Stags outscored Saint Peter's 46-32 in the paint.
