Minnesota at FSU Date 11/27/2012 7:15:00 PMLive StatsLinkTV ESPN2 Team Stats Embed This Chart On Your WebsitePence's Quick Thoughts FSU takes on #13 Pomeroy ranked Minnesota whose only loss this season came against Duke in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament on Thanksgiving day.  The Gophers have focused on defense (15th best in eFG% allowed) and offensive rebounding (3rd best in off reb %) thus far this season.  So, how does FSU matchup?  FSU is 9th best in eFG% on offense, but has struggled on the defensive glass early on this season.  The Noles have been almost as good as Minnesota on the offensive glass.  Needless to say a big factor in who wins this game is who can control rebounding. This one should be a great game, I like FSU to pull out a close one late. ********* Florida State is off to a quick start, but coach Leonard Hamilton still feels that Minnesota is "further along" than his team. The 21st-ranked Golden Gophers will try to prove that Tuesday night in Tallahassee in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. The Seminoles (4-1) are undefeated - including the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic title - - since a season-opening loss to South Alabama, but Hamilton now gets to see his team tested against a ranked opponent for the first time in 2012-13. The Seminoles won six of their last seven against the Top 25 last season en route to their first ACC tournament title, but with star guard Michael Snaer - the team leader with 16.0 points per game - the only senior in this year's rotation, Hamilton said they're "still a team that's growing." (seminoles.com) - Florida State, which has won four consecutive games, plays host to Minnesota in the 14th Annual ACC/Big Ten Challenge on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at the Donald L. Tucker Center. The Seminoles host the Golden Gophers in their second of a season-long six game homestand which began with a 75-67 win over North Florida on November 21 and runs through a home date with Louisiana Monroe on December 17. Florida State enters Tuesday's game against Minnesota having won four consecutive games - three in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic against Buffalo (95-68, Nov. 12), BYU (88-70, Nov. 16 in the semifinals of the event) and Saint Joseph's (75-67, Nov. 17 in the championship round of the event) and against North Florida. The Seminoles' games against BYU and Saint Joseph's were played at the newly opened Barclay's Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. Following Tuesday night's game against Minnesota, the Seminoles will play host to Mercer on Dec. 2 (Sunday) at 2:00 p.m. here at the Donald L. Tucker Center.
