McClain Talks Gopher Offer
Minnesota had success reaching into the JUCO ranks for talent this past cycle. The staff looks to be following a similar model as they go after Northwest Mississippi defensive tackle Jerome McClain. McClain recently picked up an offer from the Golden Gophers and is hoping to take a visit to the Twin Cities this year.

Minnesota Gophers car with 28 inch rims? Minnesota Gophers car with 28 inch rims
You see this Gopher rolling, you hatin’
I will be the first to admit that when it comes to cars I know almost next to nothing. I can check my oil, check tire pressure, change a tire and put gas in the thing but I was never one to be confused with a car guy. That said, even I know that when you put 28 inch rims on a car, you’re looking to cruise in style. And this is exactly...

Salt and Pepper. Ketchup and Mustard. Shampoo and Conditioner. Beer and football. These great couples have been ignored by the tabloids and rag shows for ages. The University of Minnesota and the state legislature could stand for it NO MORE. A bill has passed through the Minnesota House of Representatives and Senate, and it allows beer [...]

Spring game leaves unanswered questions
MINNEAPOLIS What do we know about the Golden Gophers football team at this point? Did Saturday's spring game give us any glimpse into what Minnesota might look like this fall?
Not really. I left TCF Bank Stadium after the game feeling more confused than anything. The Gophers played two 25-minute halves with a running clock. But when the second half was over, they added 10 more...

Minnesota's Edwards relying on instincts at LB
MINNEAPOLIS Lamonte Edwards still has that running back mentality. For a linebacker, that can be advantageous.
Edwards, a redshirt sophomore on the University of Minnesota football team, made the switch from running back to linebacker in the middle of his freshman season with the Gophers. The transition was by no means seamless, and Edwards initially missed being able to carry...

Crawford-Tufts ended track dreams for football
MINNEAPOLIS Devin Crawford-Tufts has left a lot of things behind. He left a track career with high expectations, some unmet. He left what should be asterisks by the names of the 2011 Minnesota boys state champions in the 100- and 200-yard dashes, events that were his to win before a hamstring injury sidelined him. He left behind a family history, a mother who was a college sprinter...
