Just a couple of weeks prior to the start of the regular season, while Rick Pitino was making his rounds with the national media, Kevin Ware was one player that he spoke very highly of. He even told national writers like Jeff Goodman and Jon Rothstein of CBS that Ware would start at the 2-guard for the Cards. Ware hasn’t started a game for Louisville yet this season and hasn’t been as big of a factor as some expected, but I think we’ve seen flashes of a bright future in the first 10 games. Although he is averaging just 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.0 steal per game, Ware has had played well in the last three games. Considering Ware isn’t a starter and he comes off of the bench for one of the best backcourts in the country, it seems like it will be hard for him to get consecutive stretches of action this season.
