February was an extrememly busy month for me and I just didn’t have time to write happy hour. But now that February is ending I’m making a triumphant return.

I was looking at KenPom’s ratings and Purdue comes in at #29 overall. Now normally when you think of Purdue you think of a hard-nosed defensive minded team that will grind out wins. But this year he has them ranked 88th in defense. I find this pretty accurate as Purdue hasn’t really been a good team on the defensive end this year. However what is shocking is that Purdue is the 11th most efficient offensive team in the nation. If you just did a double take I can understand that as they go through stretches sometimes where they just can’t score. But they are averaging over 70 points again in a defensive conference. The reason why they get such a high efficiency rating is that they simply don’t turn the ball over. They have committed the fewest turnovers of any team in the nation (wisconsin is 2nd). On Saturday they only had 5 turnovers all game against Michigan. I attribute that to having 3 seniors primarily handling the ball in Lewis Jackson, Ryne Smith and Robbie Hummel. So if you’re tired of watching sloppy basketball and are a fan of teams taking care of the ball and moving the ball around in the halfcourt, get on the Purdue bandwagon with me.
