Illinicast: Who is the Next Illinois Basketball Commitment?

The Fighting Illini are in pursuit of the next big star to bring home to Champaign Illinois. Currently, coach Brad Underwood and staff have two commitments from the Transfer portal. First, it was Mercer Sharpshooter Jake Davis who decided to hop on board. The 6 foot 6 native of McCordsville, Indiana was a productive option on the wing for the Bears in 2024. During his freshman season, Jake averaged 9 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game. Shooting 38.7 percent from deep. Then, Louisville guard transfer Tre White pledged his commitment to Illinois Basketball on Wednesday. The 6’7 native of Dallas averaged 12.3 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game for the Cardinals this past season. Shooting 45.6% from the floor.

Certainly, with a handful of other spots to fill on this roster, there is one gleaming question in everyone’s mind. Who’s next for Illinois Basketball? Illini Cast hosts Sunny and Austin give their thoughts on who they believe could be the next commitment to crack for the Illini. Furthermore, covering some of the big visitors that are making their way to Champaign this weekend. Will it be a Toledo guard? An athletic Notre Dame forward? Perhaps, a former Big Ten opponent? Of course, it certainly could be an Arizona point guard who hails from Champaign…. Austin and Sunny give their thoughts and insight, on the 81st episode of Illinicast.
