The heralded 2014 NBA draft class is often projected as the "Andrew Wiggins' Sweepstakes." Which team will win the draft lottery and the right to draft Wiggins? Who's tanking for Wiggins? What franchise will be lucky enough to rebuild around Wiggins? For some NBA fans, the June draft centers around the Kansas freshman and only him. There are a few NBA front-office executives and scouts, however, who aren't completely sure Wiggins will even be the No. 1 overall pick. "Until Wiggins learns how to play hard," one NBA scout said, "he's Kansas' third-best freshman." Not many talent evaluators are that critical of Wiggins, but they do agree that he's not the only college player who will merit a close look this season. Duke freshman forward Jabari Parker, Kentucky freshman forward Julius Randle, Oklahoma State sophomore guard Marcus Smart and Australian guard Dante Exum – in addition to Wiggins – could make this a particularly stron...

Andrew Wiggins vs Jabari Parker: Round One

Round one goes to Wiggins, but get used to this matchup as we’ll be seeing it for years in the NBA. Andrew Wiggins and Jabari Parker have taken turns being crowned the inevitable top pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, but now we’ll have a year of college basketball to settle the matter, though Kentucky’s super freshman Julius Randle may have something to say about it as well. Both...

Wiggins' surge helps No. 5 Kansas edge No. 4 Duke

Parker, a former prep star at nearby Simeon High School, had 27 points, nine rebounds and three steals in a spectacular homecoming. But it was his fellow freshman star that made the biggest plays in...

Andrew Wiggins May be One and Done--But at Least it Will be a Very Good One!

The one and done thing has to be frustrating as can be for college basketball fans and coaches. You want to go after the best recruits in the land, but if you actually get them you are in constant rebuilding mode since they are leaving after just one season. But if you don't go after one and done type players like Andrew Wiggins than you don't get to see performances...

Andrew Wiggins and Jabari Parker have played only one game each collegiately, but the growing hype surrounding these star freshmen has them competing for an elite status next summer. Well before that, they'll face each other on the court in Parker's hometown. Wiggins and fifth-ranked Kansas will try to spoil Parker's return to Chicago and beat No. 4 Duke in a rare meeting...

Scout Questions Wiggins' Motor

Andrew Wiggins has frequently been called the best NBA prospect to come out of high school since LeBron James, but some are questioning his motor and others like some of the other talented players in the anticipated 2014 NBA Draft. "Until Wiggins learns how to play hard, he's Kansas' third-best freshman," said one NBA scout. Wiggins "is not always playing hard...

Be Patient With Assessments Of Randle, Wiggins, And Parker

22 points and 8 rebounds. 27 points and 9 rebounds. 27 points and 13 rebounds. Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker, and Julius Randle did not disappoint in their grand introduction to college basketball’s national stage via the State Farm Champions Classic. All three showed why right now they are NBA lottery caliber players. But when assessing these three it’s important to remember...

5 things learned from the Champions Classic

If the Champions Classic is any indication of what's in store for the rest of the season in college hoops, it's going to be a fun year. Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker and Julius Randle were as good as advertised, if not better, and Kentucky, Michigan State, Duke and Kansas all showed the makings of Final Four teams. The only bummer? The incessant whistles that often made...

Coach K Calls NBA Teams Tanking Un-American

After only two weeks into the NBA season there has been talk about teams possibly tanking in order to reload with the talented 2014 draft class. One anonymous GM even admitted to talking with ownership about the benefits tanking could have for the team. After seeing Jabari Parker, Andrew Wiggins, and Julius Randle perform on the big stage last night, it makes sense why some teams...

Jabari Parker dazzles national audience, but still a step behind Andrew Wiggins

Jabari Parker seemed distracted as he wandered the nearly empty United Center hallway to the team bus after Duke’s 94-83 loss to Kansas in the second game of Tuesday night’s State Farm Champions Classic. You could hardly blame Parker for seeming out of it. The 6-foot-9 freshman phenom created a national buzz on Tuesday night by scoring 27 points while hauling down nine rebounds...
