After bouncing back from a tough loss, coach Josh Pastner would like Memphis to find its outside touch before its inaugural run through the American Athletic Conference. The 17th-ranked Tigers seek their 18th straight home win Saturday when they face Jackson State in their final tune-up before the start of league play. Memphis (8-2) allowed No. 13 Florida to shoot 51.9 percent in a 77-75 loss at Madison Square Garden on Dec. 17, but the Tigers got their defense back on track against Southeast Missouri State last Saturday. They held the Redhawks to 45.0 percent shooting and 20 points below their season scoring average in a 77-65 home win. The Tigers' tenacious full-court press forced 19 turnovers which led to 24 points. "I'm glad that we put it in," Pastner said. "There's going to be different times that we need it. Dixon leads No. 17 Memphis over Jackson State

Memphis' experience paid off in the 17th-ranked Tigers' final game before opening conference play next week. Michael Dixon scored 14 points, Shaq Goodwin had 13 points and seven rebounds as Memphis beat Jackson State 75-61 on Saturday.
