Found February 23, 2014 on Pass The Pill:
Duke defeated Syracuse Saturday night with a questionable call late in the game. Syracuse forward C.J Fair took the lane with 10.4 seconds left and a chance to tie the game. He made the layup and it appeared he might have been an and one, which would put Syracuse up by one if he made the free throw. Instead, referee Tony Greene blew his whistle and called Fair for a charge against Rodney Hood. This call was too much for Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim. He exploded off the bench and argued the call with the ref. His behavior got him a quick technical, and as he continued to argue, he was thrown out of the game. The Hall of Fame coach has never been ejected from a regular season game before tonight, but this call with the game on the line set him off the edge. After the game Boheim said “I thought it was the worst call of the year. That’s all” The technical and free throws helped Duke win it 66-60. The last time these two teams faced each other, Syracuse won it on a questionable call in overtime. Duke definitely got their revenge Saturday night, and coach Boheim won’t be forgetting this one for a while. Calling Fair for the charge was controversial, and ultimately decided the game. Video: Jim Boeheim Gets Double Technical After Arguing C.J. Fair Charge Call

We’ve got controversy in Cameron. Syracuse forward C.J. Fair hit what many believed was the game-tying layup with 10 seconds to play, seemingly setting up an incredible ending to a great basketball game. But before the shot, Fair was hit with an offensive foul, leading SU coach Jim Boeheim to go absolutely crazy on the referees. Boeheim got two technical fouls and was tossed from...

C.J. Fair Thinks Jim Boeheim Cost Syracuse The Game vs. Duke

While Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim may not be regretting his actions that resulted in a double-technical foul, an ejection, and four free throws for Duke in a two-point game, his star senior forward, C.J. Fair, might not be on the same page. Fair, who was at the center of the controversy after being called for a charge in what proved to be the most critical play of the game, still...

Jim Boheim freaks out on officials after charging call, gets tossed from game against Duke

No one has ever seen Jim Boehim freak out like this, and unfortunately it costed his team the game. After CJ Fair was called for a questionable charging call on what would’ve been a game-tying and-1, the longtime Syracuse coach lost his cool, telling the head official that the call was bullish*t several times before being thrown out of the game. It’s tough to see the #1 ranked...

Questionable Call and Epic Tantrum Tarnish End of Duke/Syracuse Game

Saturday's contest between No. 5 Duke and No. 1 Syracuse was a pretty bog one for both schools. Syracuse needed a win to get back on track after a suffering their first loss of the season to Boston College earlier in the week. Duke was hoping to rebound after losing to another rival--North Carolina--a couple days earlier.Only one can leave the court happy of course. From a fan...

Photo: Venezuelan Protestor Has Expletive-Laced Anti-Duke Sign

So, apparently politics aren’t the only topic worth protesting down in Venezuela. Check out the below photo, posted to Reddit this past weekend, of a young protestor expressing his displeasure with both the government and Duke basketball. The assumption here is that the young man was not happy with the charge call that went against Syracuse’s C.J. Fair late in the second half...

Swofford: Ref made 'judgment call' in SU-Duke game

ACC commissioner John Swofford says the controversial charge call in Saturday night's game between Syracuse and Duke was a ''judgment call'' by officials. Swofford, speaking after a football news conference in Charlotte, wouldn't say whether official Tony Greene made the right call when he whistled Syracuse's C.J. Fair for charging with 10 seconds left...

Plain And Simple, Jim Boeheim Did Wrong By His Players Saturday Night

Boeheim Whether or not you agree that the charging call on Syracuse forward C.J. Fair at the end last night’s SU vs. Duke game, was, in fact, fair, there was one decision that was considerably more questionable – coach Jim Boeheim’s decision to explode on the referees. As a lifelong Syracuse fan (and graduate), I was very surprised to see his actions. At the moment, there are...
