LeBron James gives Duquesne shoutout after upset win over BYU

The Duquesne Dukes pulled off a 71-67 upset over the BYU Cougars in the first round of the men's NCAA Tournament on Thursday.

It's the first time Duquesne will advance to the Round of 32 for the first time since 1969, per ESPN , and it caught the attention of one of the game's all-time greats, LeBron James.

Getting a shoutout from "King" James is nothing to be overlooked and the Dukes proved they shouldn't be either on Thursday.

The Cougars entered the tournament as the No. 6 seed in the East, but it will be No. 11 Duquesne moving on to the next round.

Dae Dae Grant led the way, scoring a team-high 19 points, including four free throws in the final 10 seconds. Jakub Necas also added 12 points while Jimmy Clark III had 11 on their way to clinching the win.

The Atlantic 10 tourney champs not only get to celebrate their return to the dance after 47 years, but the victory also keeps head coach Keith Dambrot working a little longer as he announced he's retiring following the season.

"They just don't want me to retire," Dambrot said after the game. "I'm trying to get to the promised land, and they're making me keep coaching."

The Dukes (25-11) will now advance to play either third-seeded Illinois or No. 14 seed Morehead State for a spot in the Sweet 16 on Saturday.

Duquesne's win likely ended many March Madness brackets, but Clark III doesn't care as he hopes his team continues to make history this weekend.

"Bust them brackets, baby! Bust them brackets, baby!" Clark III reportedly yelled as he headed back to the locker room.
