What do we know about this Louisville after tonight’s game that we didn’t already know? Good question, right? Montrezl Harrell continued to be impressive, Russ Smith made plays, Peyton Siva showed leadership and Gorgui Dieng blocked shots. It’s hard to get a realisitic feel for how good a team is when they go against a NAIA competition. With that said, it’s not to be impressed with this Louisville team. It was a slightly slow start for the Cards, but with in no time they cruised to a comfortable lead and kept throughout the entire game, defeating Pikeville 93-57. Montrezl Harrell lead the way with 19 points, 13 rebounds and 3 blocks. I’ve always shot down the idea of Harrell being a full time start for the Cards, but if he continues to play like this, he’ll prove me wrong. As Pitino has mentioned in recent weeks, Russ Smith is really playing at a high level right now. It’ll be hard to keep him off the floor if he can keep up the solid play on both offense and defense.
