Luke Kennard (Photo credit: Nick Falzerano/Dayton Daily News) Michigan Basketball recruiting target Luke Kennard has been racking up the offers lately. He played at Nike’s Peach Jam last week and corralled offers from Duke, Kentucky and Michigan State in the process. Kennard is a 6-foot-5 gunner from Franklin, Ohio. As a sophomore, he averaged 27 points per game and he has also maintained a 4.o GPA. When John Beilein began extending offers to class of 2015 recruits, it was Kennard who received the first Michigan offer. The Wolverines coaches have long been following the standout guard and he is an absolutely perfect fit for Beilein’s offense. Last week, one report had Kennard naming a top 4 of Duke, Michigan, North Carolina and Ohio State. He also stated that Florida, Kentucky, Louisville and Indiana are also in the mix. However, a July 13 report on Kentucky.com said that Kennard  had a top 3 of Indiana, Michigan and Ohio State. Kennard has been to Michigan several times for camps and unofficial visits. He said he rooted hard for the Wolverines during their run to the National Championship game. Watching Michigan, Kennard certainly had to be intrigued by the Wolverines style of play. Kennard, a lefty, is more than just a shooter. He is a cerebral player, who can handle the ball, he played a lot of point guard at Michigan’s team camp, and he can pass the rock. Kennard is also a standout quarterback for Franklin High School. Scout.com ranks Luke Kennard as the #18 overall player in the country and the #4 shooting guard. He is ranked #21 overall by rivals. 2015 offers So far Michigan has offered three players from the 2015 recruiting class. In addition to Kennard, John Beilein has extended offers to a pair of Jalens, point guard Jalen Brunson (Chicago, Illinois) and combo guard Jalen Coleman (Indianapolis, Indiana).
