From Diehard Sport:

It wouldn’t be rivalry week without a mascot head getting stolen.  On Wednesday, the head of the Duke Blue Devils mascot was stolen and put up on a stake on top of a student store in Chapel Hill.

A photo showed up on Instagram of people wearing the mascot head before it was placed on the stake. The photo posted to Instagram reportedly had the following caption: “Shout out to my brother and his friends for stealing the Duke mascot head and mounting it on a stake.”

Here's a look at the photos reportedly posted on Instagram (the photo above was also part of the same post):

WGHP in North Carolina shared the following information:

Derek Rowles, an executive producer for ABC 11 in Raleigh, said Chapel Hill Police have taken possession of the Duke mascot head. It was removed from the bookstore around 3:40 p.m. Wednesday.

This incident likely heightened the tension between the schools prior to Wednesday's basketball game, which Duke won 73-68.

Preparation pays off for Plumlee

You may recall that I picked Florida State’s Michael Snaer to be this season’s ACC Player of the Year. When I get it wrong, I get it wrong. But the bulk of the ACC media picked NC State’s C.J. Leslie to win that award and that’s not going to happen, either.  If post-season voting were to take place now, neither would make first-team All-ACC. Plumlee is averaging 18.2 points...

There won’t be any storming the court in Cameron Indoor Stadium on Mike Krzyzewski’s watch

The Duke Blue Devils mounted a second half comeback to beat rival North Carolina 73-68 in the first of two meetings between the schools. And though Duke, who is ranked #4 in the country and at home, was expected to beat an unranked UNC squad, Duke students still felt that the win warranted them storming the court. Unfortunately for them, Mike Krzyzewski had other ideas and stopped...

Seth Curry’s Mom Goes Duckface

Seth Curry is having a pretty good Senior year at Duke, averaging over 16 points for the second-rank team in the nation.  After he hit a big 3 pointer during the second half of their Rivalry Week matchup against North Carolina, the camera panned to his mother Sonya Curry.  Who is a solid 7 for an older lady. She celebrated with a little dance and a pretty solid duckface. The post...

Move over Katherine Webb, Seth Curry’s mom is America’s new crush

Seth Curry's mom, Sonya Curry, stole the show during the Duke vs North Carolina basketball game on Wednesday night.

TDDTV: Mason Plumlee Interview

Duke's Mason Plumlee said that Quinn Cook was the team's rock in the first half.

Plumlee leads No. 2 Duke past rival UNC

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) -- With its star big man on the bench with foul trouble, Duke went small to beat its top rival -- and one of its smallest players came up big. The run that propelled the second-ranked Blue Devils to a 73-68 victory over North Carolina on Wednesday night started when Mason Plumlee sat down and backup guard Tyler Thornton warmed up. "I think the hero for us...

Duke hangs on against UNC

Quinn Cook and Mason Plumlee scored 18 points each as Duke moved to 22-2 on the season with a five point victory over North Carolina on Wednesday night.

Seth Curry is a senior. #SadACCFans

I can't figure out why ACC fans, who don't root for Duke, are sad that Seth Curry is a senior.

WWE upset with Nancy Grace over Warrior death coverage

HLN Video Hey, remember when The Ultimate Warrior died and Nancy Grace brought on Diamond Dallas Page to openly suggest Warrior died from steroids, brought in totally unrelated doctor who said things like “anabolic steroids are probably used by 1% of Americans,” then put together a list of wrestlers who died young to suggest Owen Hart died from drugs? Yeah, turns out WWE wasn’t...

The NFL Draft season is busy for analysts and reporters. Many people have feelings on what a team will do while others claim to have sources that also feel what a team will do. Nothing is ever a “for sure” bet.  But several media members go around asking questions or are given information in which they piece together like a puzzle. NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport is one that does that...

Roy Hibbert: ‘I was wrong’ to call out Pacers teammates

I’ll learn from that, and I was wrong. There are better ways to handle that...
