Mike Moser had 18 points and 21 rebounds to lift No. 12 UNLV to a 77-72 overtime victory against Boise State on Wednesday night. Chace Stanback added 15 points and Oscar Bellfield had 13 for the Runnin' Rebels (19-3, 3-1 Mountain West Conference) in a game that was close throughout the second half. With the score tied at 64 at the end of regulation, Moser and Bellfield led the way in the extra period dominated by the Rebels. Bellfield hit a 3-pointer early, putting the Rebels up 70-65 with 2:03 left, and Moser sank a pair of free throws in the final minute to seal UNLV's third straight victory. Boise State (10-9, 0-4) rallied late in the second half and had a chance in the final seconds, but couldn't get off a clean shot before the buzzer. Derrick Marks led the Broncos with 21 points and Thomas Bropleh added 17 points and 13 rebounds. Boise State briefly grabbed the lead when Bropleh hit a 3-pointer and was fouled. He followed by hitting the free throw to give the Broncos a 33-31 edge with 17:50 left. Then Moser took over, hitting three 3-pointers over the next 3 minutes, the last one putting the Rebels up 43-39. Kendall Wallace hit a 3 on the next Rebels possession and Bellfield followed moments later with a fast-break layup to put UNLV in front 48-39 with 12:51 to go. But the Broncos refused to quit. A stingy defense and an offense sparked by Tre' Nichols helped Boise State outscore the Rebels 13-6 over the next 5 minutes. Nichols scored nine points during a 5-minute span and his 3-pointer with 5:55 left put the Broncos up 56-55. Bellfield hit a 3-pointer with 4:39 left to put the Rebels up 63-59 and Brice Massamba hit one of two free throws on the following possession to give the Rebels a 64-59 lead. Boise State responded when Anthony Drmic hit a 3-pointer, and Marks sank both free throws with 59 seconds left to tie the game at 64. Both teams had shots in the final minute, but failed to get clean looks. UNLV jumped out early and lead 12-0, in part because the Broncos missed their first seven shots before Marks broke the drought with a short jumper at the 15:46 mark. The Rebels maintained control for much of the first half and led 15-6 when Moser hit a baseline jumper with 11:43 left. But the Broncos settled down and started whittling away at the lead by playing tight defense and controlling the boards in the final 7 minutes. A baseline drive and dunk by Marks sparked a 17-12 run before the break, and Marks' jumper with 43 seconds left gave Boise State its first lead. UNLV responded when Justin Hawkins hit a 3-pointer with 8 seconds left before halftime to give the Rebels a 29-27 lead. Both teams shot poorly in the first half. UNLV shot 31.4 percent, while Boise State wasn't much better at 32.4 percent, and just 15.4 percent from behind the 3-point arc.

Inside the boxscore: UNLV 77, Boise State 72 (OT)

1. Yes, Boise State's gym is named Taco Bell Arena. Taco Bell is even kind enough to include the text 'Boise State University' in the logo. Of course, Boise State owns the arena, so having their name in 8-pt font while TACO BELL goes for 32-point font seems a bit odd. The arena will retain that name through at least 2019 as the University signed a 15-year deal with Taco...

UNLV-Boise St. Preview

UNLV's first game on the road in Mountain West Conference action did not go so well.
