New Mexico Lobos guard Hugh Greenwood overcame more than the Boise St. Broncos’ defense Wednesday. The sophomore fell ill with the flu around 1 a.m. Wednesday morning, missed all the nationally ranked Lobos’ pre-game activities and nearly missed the game due to the flu. But Greenwood rallied to help lead UNM to a thrilling 79-74 victory over the host Broncos before 10.420 at the Taco Bell Arena.

No. 19 New Mexico 79, Boise St. 74

Tony Snell scored 22 points and Hugh Greenwood added 15 to lead No. 19 New Mexico to a 79-74 overtime victory over Boise State on Wednesday night. Snell and Greenwood dominated the overtime, teaming for nine of the Lobos' 16 points. The win was the third straight for the Lobos (16-2, 3-0 Mountain West Conference).
