Ohio State missed the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2017 after a terrible 16-19 season.
Head coach Chris Holtmann obviously wants to turn that trend around as soon as possible, and bringing in talented and experienced players via the transfer portal is one way to do that.
With that in mind, Ohio State's latest transfer commitment is big news. Minnesota Golden Gophers forward Jamison Battle announced on social media that he's going to be heading to Ohio State.

Bringing in Battle is a major get for OSU. Not only is he going to be a super senior with a ton of experience, but he can absolutely make a defense pay from beyond the three-point line.
Battle was Minnesota's second-leading scorer last season, averaging 12.4 points while also grabbing 3.8 rebounds per game for the Golden Gophers. Even more impressively, he averaged 17.5 points and 6.3 rebounds in 2021-22, earning All-Big Ten honors.
He's made 2.5 three-pointers per game in his college career and has averaged 35% shooting from deep. That includes a three-point percentage of 36.6% last season.
Landing Battle as a transfer player makes the future even brighter for Ohio State. Keep in mind, Holtmann is already expecting to bring in at top-10 recruiting class.
