It’s not often that you see a Dunk of the Year front runner appear in January, and it is even more unlikely when you consider it is done by a 9-10 team against the #2 team in the country, but that is precisely what happened in Oklahoma State’s 79-72 win over #2 Missouri.

The dunk was set up by a fantastic off ball screen that allowed Oklahoma State’s Markel Brown to have a free run from the three point line down the baseline to the basket where the only defender there was the 6-foot-2 Matt Pressey.

Sorry about the posterization Matt.

Of course that resulted in Brown being ejected from the game because it was his second technical foul, because you know any intimidation or showmanship in college is off limits… Unless you play for the Duke Blue Devils, UConn Huskies, Kentucky Wildcats, Kansas Jayhawks, Baylor Bears or any other top college program right now.

Basically you can’t show up a top ranked team as an underdog on an individual play when you are already showing them up as a team on the court. Wait they were losing!?!?

Luckily that was enough momentum for the Oklahoma State Cowboys to go on a 26-16 run to end the game and take the victory, which they deserved in my mind after that bogus ejection.

The moral of the story, if you have a huge play, just put your head down and run back down to the defensive side of the court, no emotion here.
