As I’m sure most of you have heard Louisville’s game against Marquette on Sunday afternoon will be a “White Out” at the KFC Yum! Center. There is no official word if Rick Pitino will wear his infamous white suit or not, but the team will wear special edition all white uniforms from Adidas. Here is a photo of them that surfaced on Twitter this morning. Louisville is one of a handful of schools that will wear special edition uniforms from Adidas. If you haven’t seen some of the other schools, Adidas likes to make the names and sometimes numbers nearly impossible to see. Other than not being able to see the last name on the back, I think these are pretty sharp. Thoughts???

Rick Pitino calls this a must win...

Hard-nosed Siva helps Cardinals end skid

The Louisville Cardinals found themselves at number one in the nation two weeks ago, but after a pair of two-point losses to Syracuse and Georgetown and a 73-64 loss at Villanova, the Cardinals were reeling and needing a win for confidence and to basically get the team back in line to win the Big East regular season. Cards coach Rick PItino recognizes the impact of Peyton Siva...

Cardinals edge Pitt, snap skid

Russ Smith and Gorgui Dieng combined for 34 points and sealed the game with four free throws in the final 12 seconds as No. 12 Louisville ended a three-game losing streak with a 64-61 victory over Pittsburgh on Monday night. Louisville, which has slumped since being No. 1 two weeks ago, saw an 11-point second-half lead cut to 60-58 on Tray Woodall's 3-pointer with 13.3 seconds...

Inside the boxscore: Louisville 64, Pitt 61

1. Pitt has struggled all season with free throws, and are 256th in FT% nationally. But those struggles were particularly acute vs Louisville, as the Panthers only made 3-12 (25%) for the game. It was the first time this season they made less than half their FTs. 2. After the win, Louisville is now 17-4, 5-3. This team began the season 16-1 before losing three in a row. The win...

Good Louisville shows up, dispatches Pitt 67-64

That’s the team we remember, the one missing in action for a week, one challenging every rotation of the basketball, digging deep, finding itself, dispatching the chess team back to the student activities center. Good opponent Pittsburgh, which always seeming to bring out the best in the Cardinals. Remember the 69-63 win over No. 1 Pitt during the 2008-09 season? Or the 63-59 overtime...

Terry Rozier Scores 68 Points At Last Night’s Louisville HS HoopFest

Yesterday was arguably the worst performance of the season for Rick Pitino and the Louisville Cardinals as they dropped their third game in a row to Georgetown 53-51. While the current Cardinals were a disappointment yesterday, that certainly wasn’t the case for future Louisville guards Terry Rozier and Anton Gill. Rozier and Gill of Hargrave Military Academy participated in last...

Louisville basketball news and notes

The Cards finally got back to their winning ways last night with a 64-61 win over a solid Pittsburgh team. It wasn’t the prettiest display we’ve ever seen (it typically never is against the Panthers) and Louisville still has not mastered closing teams out, but they did show a lot more positives on Monday night. First, Peyton Siva had one of his best floor games in some time....

Cards Get Back To Their Winning Ways, Outlasting Pittsburgh 64-61

Rick Pitino and the Louisville Cardinals avoided their first ever four game losing streak in Big East play tonight as they defeated the Pittsburgh Panthers 64-61. Poor free throw shooting was detrimental to Louisville’s loss at Villanova last week, but the Cards were able to connect on their final six free throw attempts tonight, holding off a late run by the Panthers. Russ Smith...

Lamar Robbins, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound cornerback from Miami, Florida verbally committed to South Florida on Sunday afternoon. He chose USF over Louisville and Oklahoma. Robins had taken an official visit to Louisville the weekend before, but decided to go with South Florida, calling Willie Taggart’s program a perfect fit for him. Despite being rejected by Robbins, the Louisville...

Linebacker Keith Kelsey Commits To Louisville

Keith Kelsey Jr., a 6-foot-2 215-pound linebacker from Gainesville, FL., has verbally committed to Louisville. Kelsey was set to make the announcement at 9:30 this morning, but the news of his commitment to Charlie Strong and the Cardinal program had leaked about an hour before his announcement. He chose Louisville over South Florida and Kentucky. Kelsey also had offers from Duke...

Pittsburgh-Louisville Preview

From No. 1 in the country to the verge of its longest losing streak in nearly nine years, Louisville has coach Rick Pitino declaring Monday night's home contest with Pittsburgh a must-win. The Cardinals (16-4, 4-3 Big East) beat Connecticut 73-58 in their first game as the nation's top-ranked team Jan. 14 before falling 70-68 at home to then-No. 6 Syracuse on Jan. 19. They...

Burying DePaul and Preparing for Ville

First off, a big, big thanks to Curt and Voodoo Brewery for an excellent Sunday. That was a great time and plenty of Pitt guys showed up — especially from Grove City — to take a tour, sample some amazing barrel-aged beers and just have some good conversation — about beer and Pitt. I can’t say enough about the barrel samples that Curt provided. Those were some of the most...
