Rick Pitino said on his radio show last night that he hoped to get sophomore’s Wayne Blackshear and Chane Behanan “going” prior to his team’s departure to the Bahamas for the Battle 4 Atlantis. Blackshear is finally 100% healthy for the first time since he’s been at Louisville. He missed the majority of last season with a shoulder injury. The expectations from Blackshear heading into his sophomore year were pretty lofty, in my opinion. Although he’s as physically talented as anyone on the Louisville roster, you’ve got to think he is still shaking off some rust after missing so much action over past 18-months. In his post game press conference from the Manhattan game on Sunday, Pitino was critical of Blackshear, stating that he needs to knock down more of the open looks that he is getting. With Luke Hancock not playing as well as we’d hoped, the opportunity is there for Blackshear. Getting some confidence in a game like tonight could really help Wayne get into a rhythm offensively.
