The best way to describe my feeling after this loss is to use the word “deflated”.  You will not hear me call for Rick Pitino’s head.  Yet.  In these post game notes I typically try to offer some positive and negative points, but the positive may be hard to come by.  Bear with me as I am still not over this loss.  Louisville Field Goal Percentages are very telling.  FG – 37.9%, 3PT – 21.1%, FT – 57.9%.  You absolutely cannot expect to win a game shooting the ball that poorly.  For comparison, Providence went FG – 52.8%, 3PT – 60%, FT – 86.2%.  Obviously Louisville’s offense wasn’t the only problem. Three of the starters played less than half the game.  Siva – 12 minutes, Gorgui – 18 minutes & Chane – 20 minutes.  Elisha Justice, Jared Swopshire, Kevin Ware, and Angel Nunez all played more minutes than the Cardinals second leading scorer Russ Smith. Peyton Siva had arguably the worst game of his career seemingly throwing in the towel on his 5th foul to put him o

While Rick Pitino is not happy about the hole Louisville has dug for itself, Tuesday night's trip to Providence will bring back special memories for the coach about how a team can recover. Why Don’t We See More Of Price & Nunez?

Rick Pitino has forgotten more about the game of basketball than most of us will ever know. As frustrated as we are with him right now, I think that’s a fair statement. However, I know I am not the only one who sometimes questions a lot of the decisions he makes. We’re not able to see the players in practice every day. Therefore it’s a little unfair for us to assume that we...

Providence 90 – Louisville 59: Time To Panic

I don’t really know what to say. Words can’t describe the embarrassment that we all just witnessed. I’ve seen Louisville teams take a beating before, but I’m honestly not sure if ive seen anything like that. There was no fight. They pretty much just laid down. I honestly thought the Notre Dame loss was something you couldn’t really blame on coaching. There were missed...

The Rundown: Providence Friars

The Providence Friars are still fighting for their first Big East win. Ed Cooley’s teams was 11-2 before starting conference play, but have since dropped four games in a row. Cooley is a perfect example that shows how much coaching really matters. He has drastically improved this Friars program in just his first season. Cooley had an overall record of 92-69 in four seasons at...

UofL blasted by Providence

Louisville got smoked tonight, 90-59 by Providence. I'm pretty sure Rick Pitino is currently the most overrated coach in college basketball. I just don't understand the hype around this guy...unless you're a restroom attendant looking for a free show.
