One of Florida States top forwards is transferring. Terrance Shannon will transfer to VCU, according to CBSSports.com. Shannon has missed significant playing time the past two seasons with shoulder and neck injuries, but when healthy he is a physical, aggressive player in the low post that can rebound and play defense well. Shannon averaged 7.9 points and 5.6 rebounds last season, playing 20 games before suffering a neck injury that kept him out for all but a few minutes the rest of the season. He played in just seven games in 2011-12 before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury. The 6-foot-8, 240-pound Shannon graduated from Florida State last weekend, allowing for a transfer without penalty. Shannon will have one year of eligibility at VCU, which went 27-9 last season and lost to Michigan in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Florida State, which went 18-16 last season and lost in the first round of the NIT, will miss Shannons presence inside. But the Seminoles have been working to develop a trio of centers (rising senior Kiel Turpin, and sophomores Boris Bojanovsky and Michael Ojo) and also have an athletic forward in senior Okaro White.
