Sportress of Blogitude:
After the Louisville Cardinals beat the Michigan Wolverines to win the national championship, it was revealed that men’s basketball coach Rick Pitino made a promise to his players during the season that if they won it all, he would get a tattoo to commemorate the monumental achievement. “I said it … not believing this was going to be a reality but I am going to get it. I’m a man of my word. I’m going to get it on my left shoulder,” Pitino said. “It will be a cardinal and it will say 2013 champions.” Well, Coach Pitino made good on his word on Thursday, getting a tattoo the very way he explained it inked on his left shoulder. Pitino was spotted outside a tattoo parlor on Wednesday but told the camera crew from WDRB-TV he was there only to provide moral support for equipment manager Vinnie Tatum, who was getting inked. But on Friday morning, evidence was tweeted by Kenny Klein, Louisville’s Senior Associate Athletic Director for Media Relations, showing that Pitino did in fact get his...

John Calipari's daughter mocked Rick Pitino for the tattoo he got to celebrate Louisville's national championship win.
Rick Pitino actually went through with it. The Cardinals coach now has a Cardinals tattoo, paying off a bet he made with his players a few weeks before the regular season ended. The wager, as you can probably guess, involved Louisville winning the National Championship.
Kenny Klein, the Senior Associate Athletic Director at Louisville, tweeted out the finished product this morning...
Rick Pitino is a man of his word.
Early in the Louisville Cardinals’ season, their head coach promised the team that if they won the national title, he would get a tattoo. Surprisingly, after the team won it all, Pitino didn’t back down, promising to fulfill his obligation to his players. A few days later, it was revealed that Pitino would be inked with a Cardinal and an inscription...
Rick Pitino didn’t welch promise he made to the Louisville Cardinals basketball team. He told the guys that he would get a tattoo if they won it all, and he didn’t wait very long to get it done. Still basking in the glow of being crowned the champions of basketball, Pinto got his ink: Pretty decent, not too gaudy. Give props to the man for getting that done at such an advance...
Louisville men’s basketball head coach Rick Pitino made good on his promise to get a tattoo after the Cardinals won the NCAA national championship last month. The 60-year-old grandfather got his only piece of ink on his left shoulder blade, a Lousiville “L” with 2013 National Champions included in the artwork.
According to Paul Myerberg of USA Today, Pitino told his team in...
Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino followed through with his promise. UofL sports information director Kenny Klein Tweeted out this photo earlier this morning. Coach Pitino got tatted up.
Somewhere along the way Pitino promised his team that if they win the national championship, he’d get a tattoo. I’m sort of at a loss for words….This is awesome.
Prior to the University of Louisville men's basketball team winning the National Championship, head coach Rick Pitino made a promise to his players that he would get a tattoo if they won.

C.L. Brown of the Courier-Journal is reporting that Florida International assistant coach Mike Balado is the frontrunner to replace Kareem Richardson on the Louisville staff.
Balado spent just one season at FIU where he was an assistant for Rick Pitino’s son, Richard, who recently left Miami to take the head coaching job at Minnesota.
Many expected Belado to follow the younger...
For the fifth consecutive year, Louisville head coach Rick Pitino is looking to add someone to his staff. Kareem Richardson didn’t even make it all the way through his first year with the program before being offered a head coaching job. Richardson agreed to become the next head coach at the University of Missouri Kansas City last month.
