Of course you guys are going to drill us for another ‘guess who ______ is dating’ story, but this one really has value to your March Madness brackets. Syracuse senior guard Scoop Jardine enters the NCAA Tournament as the boyfriend of Michael Jordan’s daughter, Jasmine. Why is that a big deal? Um, you think MJ wants Scoop coming around his house – with his daughter – is the ‘Cuse get knocked out by Vandy?

Nope.

How big are the stakes for Scoop? There’s a very good chance he’s going pro in something other than basketball. He’s Skyping with Michael Jordan’s baby, the youngest in the clan. She’s only a freshman.

It’s estimated that Jordan earned $60 million between September 2010 and September 2011. Now, we’re not encouraging Scoop to be a mooch, but if he treats Jasmine nice there’s a good chance a constant flow of cash is coming their way.

Has there ever been a better gig for a basketball player who doesn’t really think playing in China sounds like a cool plan? Never. The play here for Scoop seems to be a master’s degree program at Syracuse and interning in the summer with MJ’s Bobcats.

2-3 years down the road you have a great degree, assistant GM job with the 5-45 Bobcats and you marry MJ’s daughter, walking right into a giant heiress check.

A loss to Vandy in the Sweet 16 and this dream could be history. We don’t really care about the rest of your life, just this bracket where the ink is barely dry. Your move, Jardine.
