Texas A&M Takes Down LSU In Baton Rouge

Saturday afternoon, the Texas A&M Aggies faced the LSU Tigers on the road after a tough last-second loss against the Arkansas Razorbacks just days before. However today, the Aggies pulled out the win in another close SEC game, defeating the Tigers 73 - 69.

The Aggies made history in this game, successfully posting consecutive wins on LSU's home floor for the first time ever at the Maravich Assembly Center.

Following the 41 points from Wade Taylor IV against Arkansas, Taylor also led the team Saturday with 19 points, five rebounds, and four assists but is still chasing after one more steal to become the ninth Aggie to reach 150.

Taylor's 18.2 scoring average ranks No. 3 nationally among DI players who have also posted 60 or more assists and 35+ steals.

Guard Tyrece Radford also impressed in the Aggies' win with 15 points, nine rebounds, and two assists. And forward Andersson Garcia scored 10 points with 10 rebounds and four assists.

In the last matchup between the two SEC teams, LSU's Jordan Wright was the star of the show, but in this game, his presence wasn't enough to secure the win. Wright had 15 points, 10 rebounds and six assists against the Aggies.

So what was the difference in this SEC matchup versus Tuesday's loss against the Razorbacks? Guard Manny Obaseki preached about consistency earlier in the week,

"Our identity which is playing hard all 40 minutes," Obaseki said. "I feel like we’ve struggled to that for all 40 through multiple games and it’s shown obviously.”

Saturday the Aggies were able to overcome the struggle of consistency, playing hard for all 40 minutes with more steals and fewer turnovers than the Tigers.

The Aggies will try to keep the momentum going with a home-court advantage against Missouri on Tuesday. Missouri is 8-9 overall and 0-4 in the SEC, giving the Aggies the upper hand based on record.
