There is a great article on GoDuke.com on the return of Andre Dawkins.  Dawkins talks about his time away from the team last year in which he picked up a new sport, didn't participate in any basketball activities for the fall semester, and found his faith once again. Here's a snippet, but go read the full article for an appreciation on the new player that Duke will have on their roster next season. Andre Dawkins doesn’t remember the last time he played a basketball game with a clear head. He knows it wasn’t his junior year at Duke, and he figures it was sometime prior to Dec. 5, 2009. That’s the date — now tattooed on the inside of his left wrist — that his older sister Lacey lost her life in a car accident while heading to Durham to see him in action as a freshman. But after spending the past year away from the sport he has played for as long as he can remember, Dawkins says he is eager to return to the court with newfound clarity and purpose for one final season with the Blue Devils. It's hard to know what Duke will get out of Dawkins next season.  The Blue Devils will have a loaded backcourt next season featuring two returning starters, an experienced reserve, and several talented wings eligible to play.  Dawkins will have to earn his playing time with defense and his well-known shooting ability.  Of course, I won't be surprised to see Dawkins force his way into meaningful minutes either.  At least he would be doing so with a clear mind now.
