Rick Pitino and the Louisville Cardinals will take on the DePaul Blue Demons tomorrow night as they wrap up what is likely their easiest four game stretch of the season. DePaul is currently tied for second to last place in the Big East with a 2-12 record in league play. The Blue Demons are coming off an 81-69 loss to Connecticut.
Louisville is 37-21 overall against DePaul and has won the last nine meetings. Last year’s game between the Cardinals and the Blue Demons went to overtime, with Louisville pulling away late for a 90-82 win at All State Arena.
With Head Coach Oliver Purnell in his third year with the program, I think a lot of DePaul fans expected more progress at this point. Purnell had success with the Clemson program before leaving to take the job at DePaul. Although the Blue Demon program has made some slight improvements over the past few years, they still have quite a ways to go.
