The Texas A&M Aggies are in need of some roster improvements this offseason, especially with the departure of Dexter Dennis, a graduate transfer guard who played his last year of eligibility this past season.

The Aggies have done their share of recruiting, and so far their class has been headlined by guards Eli Lawrence, Jace Carter and Bryce Lindsay and center Brandon White, who are set to play their first season for the team in November.

But they've also got a player to look forward to in 2024: Bradford Christian's George Turkson.

“I chose Texas A&M because they see the value and intangibles I bring to a team,” Turkson told On3. “The coaching staff, their players, they all are great people inside and outside of basketball. They appreciate the skill set I have and I am more than confident they’ll help me continue to grow and develop to become a complete player and winner."

Turkson officially chose the Aggies over Northwestern and UMass Wednesday, though he made clear that his interest in College Station began very early on in the recruiting process.

“The day I stepped foot on campus ... I envisioned myself being a part of the Aggies and making a difference there,” Turkson continued in his interview with On3. “The coaching staff ... have all been avid about me being a part of their program and contributing to the winning culture they already have.”

The forward is a 6-7 three-star recruit who lands in the top 150 players in the 2024 class nationally, according to 247Sports.

"Turkson’s floor game is mature beyond his years," the site wrote of Turkson. "He’s never been the type to hunt individual stats and instead makes his biggest impact in ways that don’t always end up on the stat sheet, but always help impact winning.

"He’s an elite defender and rebounder, who can match up with bigger players in the post and slide his feet on the perimeter. He’s athletic, physical, plays with a non-stop motor, and has the endurance to be able to sustain that grueling style for long stretches."

Next season, the Aggies will be looking to bounce back in the postseason after their NCAA Tournament bid was cut short in the first round, and with the arrival of multiple players to help fill Dennis' absence, Williams and company will ideally pick up where they left of.

But if that's not the case, Turkson's commitment may help them get over the hump once again.
