The 1st weekend of the NCAA tournament is in the books. There were many great performances from the weekend but find out below what players where the best. 1. Draymond Green (Michigan State)- All Green did in Michigan State opening win was recorded a triple double. He became just the third player in NCAA history to record multiple triple doubles in the tournament. Green averaged 20 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 8 assists in Michigan State’s two wins. Wow, talk about versatile. 2. Jae Crowder (Marquette) – Crowder, the Big East Player of the Year was just unstoppable this weekend. In the two games he averaged 21 points, 14.5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3.5 steals. If that wasn’t enough Crowder also hit 4 threes in the two games. I still think Crowder is really underrated nationally. 3. Kendall Marshall (North Carolina) – Sadly, Marshall broke his right wrist in Sunday’s win over Creighton after having two great games in the NCAA tournament. His status for the rest of the tourn...

Tom Izzo is Mr. March as every player he’s recruited that has stayed in East Lansing all four years has reached at least one Final Four. Remember that whenever you fill out your brackets in future years. The Big Ten is 9-2 in the tourney so far and comprises one fourth of the sweet sixteen. Purdue was inches...

Michigan State-Louisville preview

Of the 16 teams still standing in the NCAA tournament, only three - Michigan State (Big Ten), Louisville (Big East) and Ohio (Mid-American) - won their conference tournament. Others such as Florida State (ACC), Vanderbilt (SEC) and Missouri (Big 12) have been sent packing. It shows just how difficult it is to sustain a high level of performance, not to mention good fortune, at...

Marquette must stop Gator's 3-point shooters

MILWAUKEE -- For Marquette to advance beyond the Sweet 16, the Golden Eagles will need to prevent Florida from getting good looks from 3-point range on Thursday night. There was not a single team in all of Division I college basketball that made more 3-point shots this season than the Gators. "They shoot a lot of threes, and they make a lot of threes," Marquette senior...
