Josiah Turner, a heavily recruited point guard whose freshman season has been interrupted by two suspensions, will not play again this season for the Arizona Wildcats. Arizona will host Bucknell on Wednesday night in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament. Turner's second suspension, for undisclosed reasons, was announced two days before the Wildcats began play in the Pac-12 Conference Tournament. Despite his absence, the Wildcats advanced to the tournament final before losing by two points to Colorado, costing them a return trip to the NCAA Tournament. ''Josiah is done for the season," coach Sean Miller said Monday at a news conference. "It doesn't matter if we play one game or whatever it would take from this point on." Miller declined to elaborate whether Turner would be welcomed back to the program next season, saying he would meet with the player after the season concluded to discuss his future. "I wont elaborate beyond that just because when our season ends we will be able to take the next step and get on the same page with Josiah moving forward," Miller said. "That shouldnt be interpreted as he will never play at Arizona again, but I know he wont play this season again." Turner, regarded as one of the nation's top point guards coming out of high school in 2011, started 17 games and averaged 6.8 points and 2.4 assists per game. He shot 41.7 percent from the field, 62.7 percent from the free-throw line and 22.6 percent (7 of 31 from 3-point range). He was suspended for a game against Florida in December in addition to the Pac-12 Tournament suspension. Freshman Nick Johnson and sophomore Jordin Mayes will continue to fill the point guard role for Arizona during the NIT.
