D'Andre Williams scored 21 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out four assists in helping Arkansas-Little Rock defeat Louisiana-Monroe 70-66 Saturday night. UALR (11-13, 8-2 Sun Belt) built a game-high 11-point lead with 5:34 remaining, but Louisiana-Monroe (2-22, 1-10) clawed to within 68-66 on a 3-pointer by Fred Brown with five seconds left. Louisiana-Monroe was forced to foul Williams and he netted two free throws to seal the win. Williams made 11 of 12 free throws. Tied at 9-all ten minutes in, UALR started an 11-2 run within the next three minutes for a 20-11 lead that was not relinquished the rest of the game. The Trojans won despite converting only 17 of 50 field goals (34 percent), including 4 of 18 from 3-point distance. Louisiana-Monroe shot 41.5 percent, including 38.9 percent on 3-pointers. Louisiana-Monroe's Marcelis Hansberry led all scorers with 22 points. Chuck Guy scored 14 points for UALR.
