Iowa State handled its challenging week in impressive fashion as the inexperienced Cyclones secured two big victories. The competition figures to take a step down Monday night when No. 21 Iowa State returns home to host Missouri-Kansas City. The Cyclones (4-0) have already passed two huge tests with a victory over No. 7 Michigan last Sunday followed by a 90-88 win at BYU on Wednesday. They started 4-0 in 2012-13 before dropping their first two games against ranked teams despite starting four seniors. Despite a lineup that lacks experience playing with each other - Iowa State starts a freshman, a sophomore and two transfers alongside senior forward Melvin Ejim - coach Fred Hoiberg's team appears to be gelling quickly.
